Downey never pursued the installation of Holley carburetors on 22R engines during the time Weber carburetors were available. Now we are because;

(a) the Weber plant was closed for 2 or 3 years.
(b) the Holley has great cfm compatibility with the 22R.
(c) Holley, Downey, and Moroso make the goodies that let Holleys work better in off road terrain than any other carburetor, including Webers.

This is the famous Holley 350 carburetor conversion for your Landcruiser. Landcruisers with Downey Headers, Downey Advance Distributor, and Holley 350 are claiming increases averaging 5 MPG, plus an average 25 H.P. increase from the stock 120 H.P. to 145 H.P. Downey’s approach to installing the Holley 350 is a complete installation kit including all the parts needed, and illustrated instructions. We’ve eliminated those unwelcome trips to the hardware or parts store. Mechanical linkage models (1974-newer) must be converted to cable (not included). Downey offers the complete Holley 350 conversion by combining the carburetor, the adapter kit, and the air cleaner into one complete kit.

Toyota mounted the carburetor closer to the brake cylinder (longer intake runners) on 2F engines in 1976, which forced Downey into the air cleaner business. There was no air cleaner on the market that would fit a Holley and clear the brake cylinder. This superbly designed unit is the result of that dilemma. The 9” round air cleaners Downey supplied for 1969-75 Holley conversions increased dramatically in cost, consequently all Holley conversions will now use this oval air cleaner. The oval cleaner is constructed with cast aluminum top and bottom lids, includes mounting studs, smog hose fittings, and a pre-oiled “washable” filter element.

This kit solves all those mechanical linkage problems you find when converting to Holley carburetors or installing V8 engines. The pedal has a universal base that can be mounted to any flat surface. This kit is for use on 74-newer Landcruisers; instructions included. The FJ60 Cable Linkage Kit is simpler, and costs less than the FJ40 complete kit which includes a new pedal. The FJ60 kit includes the cable, cable housing, and a special nylon fitting that adapts the cable to your stock pedal.

Here’s a great new breakthrough, we’ve solved the float bowl baffle seepage problem. Now you can have a tight, completely sealed-off float bowl baffle with zero percent seepage past the baffle. This is accomplished through use of a special tow-part epoxyfuel-proof adhesive. This new kit includes a float bowl baffle, reusable float bowl gasket, and special adhesive. This new arrangement will be vastly superior to the Holley vent screen or any other device.

This is a precision, press-fit 6061 T-6 aluminum vent tube that extends from the float bowl vent up to the air cleaner top lid. The height of this chimney snorkels air into the float bowl while preventing any float bowl seepage from spilling over into the engine. The original short tube is easily removed with pliers, and the new chimney is gently tapped into position with a small hammer.

All NEW Holley 350 carburetors are available in a manual choke version only, therefore the convenience of automatic choking requires a conversion kit. This kit converts a hot air or hand operated choke to fully automatic/electrical operation. Downey selected this specific electric choke conversion kit for it’s compatibility with the “external” vacuum source carburetor supplied in Downey Holley conversion kits.
